3 Hour Paddle We begin our 3 hour paddle of the West Thumb Geyser basin at 8:30 AM. We will traverse 3 miles of wilderness with the opportunity to view active geyser features along the way. Paddling along the shoreline allows for the best wildlife viewing opportunities. Elk are often spotted in Grant Village and sometimes other mammals such as bears and wolves frequent the lake area.
