Umbrellas, canes (when not used to assist walking), tripods for cameras and film cameras are not permitted inside the Dome. Knives, scissors and metal tools that could be dangerous for people and the exhibited works are not permitted inside the Dome. You do not need a ticket to visit the Cathedral; you can enter it at any time before or after this tour. After the first validation, the ticket is valid for 72 hours: you can use it to visit locations listed on your own time (the Bell-tower, Museum and the crypt inside the cathedral). The recommended duration for the visit to the Brunelleschi's Dome is approximately 45 - 60 minutes. The recommended duration for the visit to Giotto’s Bell Tower is approximately 45 minutes. The recommended duration for the visit to the Baptistery is approximately 30 minutes. The recommended duration for the visit to the Santa Reparata is approximately 30 minutes. Appropriate clothing for a place of worship is required: access with bare legs and shoulders, and wearing sandals, hats, or sunglasses is not permitted. You may be refused entry to the Baptistery and Cathedral if you fail to comply with the cathedral's dress requirements.
