Your experience Step into the sacred world of sumo and experience Japan’s national sport up close. Watch live training, meet wrestlers, try basic moves, and share a traditional chanko-nabe meal in an authentic sumo stable. Getting started Meet your local guide just outside the ticket gate at Shin-Kawasaki Station , in front of Kiyoken (Shumai Shop) . Please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in and group assembly. Carry a valid photo ID for verification. Tickets are validated on-site by the guide before entering the stable. What to expect Kawasaki Sumo Stable Watch real sumo wrestlers train up close in a live practice session. Learn about sumo’s connection to Shinto traditions and samurai discipline. Try basic sumo moves and, if you wish, challenge a rikishi in a friendly match. Cook chicken dumplings with wrestlers and enjoy chanko-nabe — the same meal that fuels champions. Take home a souvenir “Enter the Sanctuary” T-shirt and group photos from your visit. Wrapping Up The tour ends back at Shin-Kawasaki Station , with convenient access to Tokyo Station (20 mins) or Shinjuku Station (30 mins) — ideal for continuing your day of sightseeing.
